  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour Sifted for best results
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Softened at room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use dark or semi-sweet

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers should remain soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the cookies before baking for an extra flavor boost!
