  • 12 oz Hawaiian rolls Soft and sweet, perfect for this recipe.
  • 8 oz cheddar cheese You can also mix in some mozzarella for extra stretch.
  • 4 tbsp butter Use unsalted for better control of the salt level.
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder Adds a great flavor boost!

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.
  • Spread a little butter on the outside of each half.
  • Layer cheese inside each roll and sprinkle with garlic powder.
  • Close the rolls and place them butter-side down in the skillet.
  • Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then flip.
  • Finish cooking until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from skillet, slice into bite-sized pieces, and serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, consider serving with a side of marinara for dipping!
