  • 1.5 lb ground beef use lean ground beef for less fat
  • 8 oz egg noodles or any pasta of your choice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cup beef broth or stock
  • 1 cup sour cream for a creamy texture
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch for thickening if needed
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce adds depth of flavor
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp salt adjust to taste

Preparation Steps

  • Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat and stir in sour cream. If the sauce is too thin, mix cornstarch with a little water and add to thicken.
  • Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles.

Notes

For a twist, try adding mushrooms or peas. Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for garnish.
