  • 4 cup cooked shredded chicken
  • 9 oz Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed reserve 1.0 cup for topping
  • 2 can condensed cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz cans
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup milk adjust for desired thickness
  • 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 can diced green chilies 4 oz can, mild
  • 0.5 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter melted, for topping
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro, chopped optional, for garnish

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine the condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk until smooth.
  • Stir in the shredded chicken, diced green chilies, chopped onion, and 1.0 cup of shredded cheddar. Season with salt and black pepper.
  • Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Mix the crushed Doritos (reserve 1.0 cup) with melted butter, then sprinkle the mixture over the casserole. Top with the remaining 1.0 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until the casserole is bubbly and the topping is golden.
  • Remove from oven and let rest 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 3 days. For a spicier version, use a spicy Doritos variety or add a diced jalapeño.
