Pizza burger pie is a comfort meal I prepare myself, it is easy and quick to prepare, made with flour, yeast, sour cream, mozzarella cheese, ground beef, mushroom and other ingredients.

Pizza burger pie is a delicious recipe, indeed it is. The first time I tried this recipe, I was very young. I didn’t know what I was preparing or cooking. I had  seen my mother prepare this recipe a good number of times. When I was still a child, most of the time, I just had to sit and watch how she goes about it but I wasn’t sure about the process.

She traveled for a business meeting and I had to stay at home and take care of my younger ones. I didn’t know how it felt, until I had to start cooking for my siblings. Then i tried this recipe, and i coil testify that this recipe is very easy and quick to prepare. I try to remember how my mother prepared it. I could remember a few steps and I tried it. I started gradually and in no time I got it right.

I served my siblings and I was amazed at how I could make such delicious delicacies with no supervision in no time. When my mother got back from her business trip, my siblings were requesting more. I had to make this recipe again in my mother’s presence. I did the same and she was surprised. I do not cook any other meal in the house other than this recipe because I was perfect at it.

This recipe is the best comfort food recipe you will ever make. A deep dish pizza bread crust holds this ground beef pizza together. It’s warm and cheesy and packed with Italian flavor. You should give it a try by following these steps and you have this delicacy to serve to yourself.

Serving: 4-6 servings

Ingredients 

1 ½ cups all purpose flour

2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast

1 tsp sugar

½ cup sour cream

½ cup water

¼ cup shortening

1 egg

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

For the Filling:

1 lb ground beef

1 tsp table salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 Tbsp minced onion

½ tsp dry Italian seasoning

¾ cup tomato paste

4 oz canned sliced mushrooms, optional

How to prepare

Step 1:

Prepare filling and set aside. Then combine flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a medium mixing bowl, and mix well. Heat sour cream in a saucepan over medium heat. Add water and shortening to 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit, then add to the flour mixture, and the egg. Mix by hand until it is slightly smooth.

Step 2:

Spread the mixture into a greased pie pan to make a crust. Then fill into the cust using spoons and sprinkle with cheese. Allow to bake at 375 degree Fahrenheit for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until light golden brown.

Step 3:

Remove from the heat and serve immediately. Enjoy!
