These biscuits are incredibly tender, airy, and simple to make. Excellent for either breakfast or dinner, these biscuits are reminiscent of those served at fried chicken joints. Since arriving to the South two decades ago, I have been astounded by the number of meals (cookies, cakes, shrimp dishes, pulled pork, beans, grilled meats, ham, burgers, and biscuits, to name a few) that call for a certain soda. For a long time, I thought I was the only person who didn’t use Coca-Cola to make a glaze for ham.

I’m delighted I finally got around to trying these biscuits. They’re done in about 10 minutes and taste like a million bucks! It’s totally fine to eat one hot out of the oven.

The versatility of biscuits makes them a go-to for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Moreover, there are a lot of biscuit recipes out there, but the 7-Up biscuit recipe has become increasingly famous in recent years. Famous for their light, airy texture and buttery flavor, as well as a hint of sweetness from 7-Up soda, these biscuits are a breakfast staple. This article will discuss the background of 7-Up cookies, the materials and methods required to make them, and some helpful hints for achieving consistent results every time.

7Up Biscuits: Where Did They Come From?

It is unclear precisely where 7-Up biscuits first appeared, but their southern American roots are a good guess. A chef searching for a solution to make exceptionally light and fluffy biscuits may have been the original inspiration for the recipe. The carbonation and citric acid in the 7-Up soda may have reacted with the baking powder in the recipe to cause the biscuits to rise more than they would have with other ingredients.

Ingredients

Bisquick, to the tune of 4 cups (or another baking mix if desired)
One cup of sour cream (Greek yogurt will also work.)
1 cup 7-up (or any lemon-lime soda)
a half cup of melted salted butter

Instructions:

Put in a 450 degree oven.

Blend the sour cream and Bisquick together.

To the mixture, add 7-up. The dough will be extremely tender and sticky.

Pour more baking mix onto the counter, knead and fold the dough until it is coated, then pat the dough out (no rolling pin needed) to a thickness of approximately an inch.

Use a glass as a biscuit cutter if you don’t have one, or use a biscuit cutter to make round biscuits. No strict guidelines exist, so feel free to make up your own as you go along.

The dough will be too sticky to work with until enough dry Bisquick is added.

Butter a 9-by-9-inch baking dish and melt it. I preheat the oven and place the pan with the butter inside. Only until the butter has melted; much longer and it will burn.

Cut biscuits and place on baking sheet with melted butter. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

Heat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and bake biscuits for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden. Jam, honey, butter, or honey butter are all great accompaniments.

Tips for Making Perfect 7-Up Biscuits

Make sure your biscuits are airy and light by always using cool ingredients. To avoid spoilage, remove the butter and sour cream from the fridge just before you start cooking.
Never overwork the dough, since this might cause biscuits that are tough and dense. Once the dough has come together, knead it lightly and gently so as not to overwork it.
Make use of a biscuit cutter: You may get perfectly round biscuits by cutting them with a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass. This will also ensure that they bake uniformly throughout.
Use melted butter to brush the biscuits’ tops with as soon as they come out of the oven for an additional buttery flavor.

To sum up, 7-Up biscuits are a wonderful and simple side dish option. These biscuits are perfect for any occasion; serve them with a warm cup of soup or use them as the foundation for a hearty breakfast sandwich. Their airy texture and sugary flavor
