This can easily be stored in a portable container like a mini Tupperware and taken with you.

Additionally, this takes only a few minutes to prepare and is similarly straightforward. You’ll end up with fantastic steak tacos, and if you’re missing an ingredient or two but can’t quite put your finger on it, you can always use your go-to salsa and other seasonings.

INGREDIENTS:

Sodium-reduced soy sauce, 2 tablespoons

2-tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice

Canola oil equaling 2 tablespoons, divided

In a food processor, mince 3 garlic cloves

Two teaspoons of chili powder

Ground cumin, one teaspoon

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1-and-a-half pounds of skirt steak, sliced into half-inch pieces

12 mini warmed flour tortillas

About a half a cup of finely chopped red onion

Cilantro, fresh, chopped, 1/2 cup

a wedge of lime (one)

Instructions:

Get a bowl and combine the chili powder, soy sauce, canola oil, oregano, and cumin with the lime juice.

Incorporate the steak into the soy sauce concoction. You can do this in a bag by placing the steak inside first, and then adding the mixture, or you can simply continue using the bowl you were using and add the steak there. When you’re finished, please store this in the refrigerator.

Marinating the steak and sauce for a while (at least an hour) is recommended for maximum flavor, but you can get away with marinating it for up to four hours if you stir your marinade mixture every so often.

Put the remaining canola oil in a pan and turn the heat to medium-high. After the steak has been cooked, add the marinade and place it in the refrigerator. You should then cook the steak and marinade together, stirring frequently, until the steak is browned and the marinade has reduced to your liking and the steak is cooked to your preferred doneness.

After chopping the steak into bite-sized pieces, place it on the tortillas and top with the salsa, cilantro, onion, and any other sauces you like. The addition of chips and salsa transforms this dish into a surefire hit.

Tips

Should I refrigerate the marinade overnight?

Meat cooked for a longer period of time develops more flavor. Some people prefer a marinade with a lot going on in the way of flavor and benefits, and these marinades can be quite complex. There are those who are time-crunched, though, so the decision is ultimately yours.

Can I customize this with my favorite toppings?

Certainly, you can! Certain individuals have preferences when it comes to the condiments they put on their tacos. You can make this a real winner for your tacos and something you’ll enjoy eating as a fun dish by adjusting the toppings to your liking.
