The reason I adore this Paula Deen recipe for 5-minute fudge is that I can prepare my preferred fudge without spending an eternity in the kitchen! Even a young child could do this dish because it is so simple! For busy days, this 5-minute fudge is the ideal dessert. The best thing about this recipe is how easy it can be adjusted to suit your mood!
Ingredients:
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (397g)
- 3 cups (510g) semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup (57g) unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- Optional mix-ins: chopped nuts, marshmallows, dried fruits, etc. (as desired)
Directions:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter.
- Microwave the mixture on high for 1 minute. Stir well, and continue microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until the chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and any desired mix-ins.
- Pour the fudge mixture into a greased 8×8-inch (20x20cm) baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until the fudge is set.
- Once set, cut the fudge into small squares and enjoy!
Notes:
- Experiment with different mix-ins to add texture and flavor variations to your fudge.
- Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
