A delightful variation on the traditional Italian dish are lasagna rolls. They are ideal for a special family dinner or for serving to a large group. These rolls are simple to make and can be personalized with different fillings and sauces to suit your preferences.

Ingredients:

  • Lasagna noodles
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Spinach or other vegetables (optional)
  • Ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)
  • Marinara sauce or other pasta sauce

Instructions:

  1. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package directions. Drain them and set them aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese. Add in any additional ingredients you like, such as cooked and crumbled ground beef or Italian sausage, or chopped spinach or other vegetables.
  3. Lay out the cooked lasagna noodles on a clean surface. Spoon the cheese mixture onto each noodle, spreading it out evenly. Leave a small amount of space at the end of each noodle so that you can roll it up.
  4. Roll up each lasagna noodle, starting from the end with the cheese mixture. Place the rolls seam-side down in a baking dish.
  5. Pour marinara sauce or other pasta sauce over the top of the lasagna rolls, spreading it out evenly.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated 375-degree oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the edges of the lasagna rolls are lightly browned.
  8. Let the lasagna rolls cool for a few minutes before serving.

Tips:

  • To make the lasagna rolls easier to handle, you can cut them in half with a sharp knife after they are cooked.
  • You can also freeze the lasagna rolls for later. Just wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil, and store them in the freezer for up to three months. When you’re ready to eat them, thaw them in the refrigerator overnight and then reheat them in the oven or microwave.

Conclusion:

Lasagna rolls are a fun and tasty way to enjoy lasagna. They are easy to make and you can customize them to your liking. With the right ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious and satisfying meal that will leave your guests asking for seconds. So why not give lasagna rolls a try today?
