Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (240g) walnuts
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the walnuts to the skillet and toast them for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and add the vanilla extract. Stir to coat the walnuts evenly.
  5. Transfer the walnuts to the bowl with the sugar mixture. Toss them gently until they are well coated.
  6. Spread the coated walnuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the sugar is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the candied walnuts cool completely on the baking sheet.
  9. Once cooled, break apart any clusters and store in an airtight container.
