SHARING IS CARING!

The County Fairs and Carnivals are in full swing as the summer continues. Everyone has that one item on their fair food bucket list that they simply must grab every time they go. My family’s all-time favorite fair food is funnel cake, and these Funnel Cake Bites are just as good, if not better, than the real one. You may make these in your own kitchen and eat them whenever you choose!

NOTE TO READER
Jenn had great results when she used a mini cookie scoop to portion out the dough. Thank you, Jenn!

CAUTION
It’s risky to work with hot oil of any kind. When creating them, please exercise caution. There’s no need to heat the oil very hot. Not too much heat, but enough to make a difference.

This Recipe Requires the Following Items:

Ingredients:

Milk for two people
1 egg
Use 2 tsp. of vanilla extract
Two cups of flour A dash of salt
Baking soda, one teaspoon
Approximately 2 teaspoons of sugar
You’ll need 6 teaspoons of butter.
Succinctly Put Together: – Melted

Instructions:

Combine the milk, egg, vanilla, and butter in a medium bowl.
Finally, stir in the salt, baking soda, and sugar.
Slowly incorporate flour, folding until a smooth batter forms.
After waiting a few minutes, pour the batter into a gallon-sized Ziplock bag.
Prepare a shallow layer of vegetable oil in a frying pan, about half an inch deep.
Put the stove on high for two minutes, then reduce the heat to medium.
Use a small amount of batter to test the temperature of your oil. Whenever bubbles appear along the perimeter, you know it’s done. If not, increase the heat until it is comfortable for you to touch.
Use the scissors to make a tiny hole in the corner of the plastic bag. Carefully drip batter into one or two circles, and fry until the bottoms are golden.
Using a slotted metal spatula, carefully turn them over and continue cooking until the other side is golden brown.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and set on paper towels to absorb the oil.
You can top them with whipped cream or fruit and serve them.
