  • 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cans (14 ounces each) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, cilantro

 

 

Directions:

 

 

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. In the same skillet, add diced onions and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are softened.
  3. Transfer the cooked beef, onions, and garlic to the slow cooker.
  4. Add drained and rinsed kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef broth to the slow cooker.
  5. Season with chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
