For a deliciously tart and sweet dessert, try whipping up a batch of creamy grape salad, which combines red and green grapes with sour cream and sprinklings of pecans. Fantastic for both young and old.
You probably already know that I have a serious fruit addiction if we’re good friends. Fruit is my go-to ingredient, and I feel like I could survive on it alone for the rest of my life. My favorite fruits include apples, strawberries, pineapples, and grapes. In addition to being extremely nutritious, they may be included into virtually any dish without sacrificing flavor.
I have a lot of salad recipes, and this grape salad is only one of them. And it’s one of the best, too; it always goes down well with anybody I make it for. When grapes are in season, I immediately think about making this dish. The dish is perfect for weekend potlucks and barbecues. You may serve it as an appetizer at a cocktail party, or make it as a side dish for a baby shower. As I indicated before, it is a smash whenever it is used.
This recipe has a lot going for it. In addition to being one of the healthiest dishes possible, this dessert is also incredibly simple to create, taking less than ten minutes from start to finish. What’s more, each mouthful features an incredible harmony of tastes and a satisfyingly sweet, creamy, smooth, and crunchy texture. This salad will go down in history as a classic.
This salad not only tastes great, but also looks great. Envision large, plump, crisp grapes nestled in a blanket of creamy bliss, the top dusted with brown sugar and chopped pecans. When you think about this dish, your mouth starts to water.
Ingredients:
Four pounds of green, seedless grapes
Four pounds of seedless red grapes
2 cups of pecans
16 ounces of sour cream
Cream cheese, whole fat, 16 ounces
1 mug of dark sugar
a flavoring agent like vanilla
Instructions:
Step 1:
Cream cheese and sour cream should be mixed together in a large bowl and beaten until smooth. Then, whisk in the sugar and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Step 2:
Add grapes to the cream cheese mix and toss to coat.
Step 3:
Hold in the fridge until ready to serve.
Step 4:
Just before serving, sprinkle over some brown sugar and chopped nuts for a delicious finish.
Tips
If you want to enjoy the full flavor of grapes, refrigerate them first. As such, prepare a day ahead of time and keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Softening the grapes is another benefit of starting the process a day in advance.
Never add the pecans and brown sugar until right before serving. A crisp texture is what you’re after.
To reduce the risk of a choking incident, cut the grapes in half if you’re preparing this for toddlers. Keep in mind that pecans are a nut and use caution if you have a nut allergy.
If you don’t want lumps in your finished product, soften the cream cheese, preferably at room temperature.
Greek yogurt or light cream cheese can be substituted for the sour cream and full-fat cream cheese, respectively, to reduce the calorie and fat content of the dish.
