For some reason, whenever there is a gathering of friends or family, it is expected of me to bring this dip. Everyone clusters around the serving dish until it’s empty.
Awesome dish; please accept my thanks. You should probably need something larger than an 11 by 7 inch box to store it in. Actually, no one even noticed that I forgot the lettuce.
This dish is delicious as written but may also be easily adapted to suit individual preferences. Based on the recommendations of others, I have substituted guacamole for the lettuce traditionally found in tacos and added one pound of meat to the taco seasoning.
This reminds me of a recipe I make. For the same reason that lettuce quickly wilts when left out, I also avoid using green pepper. I really like green pepper, but I don’t think it goes with this dish (just my opinion).
Since taco dip is one of my favorite appetizers, I thought this was a fantastic dish. It’s a dish I’ve made many times, and it’s always a hit with the guests. Personally, I enjoy it much more when meat is omitted. In my experience, if I keep it in the fridge, I will eat it for every meal of the day.
Mom’s 7-layer dip is a tasty meal that can be thrown together in a flash. It’s always a hit with the guests and always goes quickly.
The Seven Layer Dip my mom makes is always a hit at any party, no matter how big or small. The refried beans are topped with guacamole, seasoned sour cream, vegetables, and cheese. It goes wonderfully with tortilla chips. This dip is perfect as a pre-dinner snack because it disappears faster in the stomach than it does on the plate. It will almost certainly vanish first, as is customary.
This dish is a staple in our house for any big game day celebration. My son always answers my question about what they want with this. New Year’s Eve and Super Bowl Sunday will be celebrated with Seven Layer Dip at our place.
You won’t be disappointed in the reactions of your guests if you serve this whenever the mood strikes. I’m sending you good vibes that you’ll give this recipe a shot and share it with the people you love. I have no doubt in my mind that they will find it entertaining.

Two avocados, preferably from California but not specific, peeled, pitted, and diced
1 1/2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice
Garlic salt to taste 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped 1/4 cup salsa
a pinch of freshly ground black pepper
1 jar of sour cream, 8 ounces
Ingredients: 1 (1 oz.) packet of taco seasoning mix
Four juicy plum tomatoes (blank)
plum (roma) tomatoes, diced
a single bunch of green onions, cut very small
One sixteen-ounce can of refried beans
Shredded cheeses in the Mexican style, 2 cups
Black olives from one (2.25 ounce) can, drained and finely chopped
Instructions:
One method is to mash the avocados in a medium bowl. Squeeze in the lime, then add the cilantro, salsa, garlic salt, and pepper.
Second, combine the sour cream and taco spice in a separate, smaller bowl.
Third, spread the refried beans in a 9×13-inch dish or on a big serving plate. Spread the sour cream topping on top. Guacamole spread. Garnish with a mixture of Mexican cheeses, black olives, tomatoes, and green onions.
