SHARING IS CARING!

Everyone who enjoys pecan pie will go crazy for this pecan pie bark. When a hankering for pecan pie strikes, turn to the classic recipe. At odd times, my kid will demand pecan pie, but I don’t always have the time to prepare one.

I think it’s great that there are so many possible combinations to try, but that’s also a potential downfall because I’ll want to try them all. For some pointers, see the “Notes” section down below. The vanilla wafers as the foundation are an excellent idea. A box of vanilla wafers is a cupboard staple for me. The mix of chocolate and pecans is exquisite, so I know that chocolate chips will work wonderfully in this bark.

These are also perfect for giving as Christmas presents. It’s a unique twist on typical candy presents, and you can spread the love by giving someone the recipe as well.

Ingredients:

Graham cracker sheets, 12 of them

1 cup of butter, unsalted

1 pound of brown sugar, tightly packed

Use a pinch of salt, or less than a teaspoon,

1.5 cups of chopped walnuts

Sprinkling of vanilla bean paste, 1 teaspoon

Instructions:

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, then prepare a 9 by 13-inch baking pan by spraying foil with vegetable oil.

Put the graham crackers in a neat row (break crackers to fill in any gaps).

Cook the butter, brown sugar, and salt together in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Get it boiling and keep stirring for 3 minutes.

Cook the pecans for 30 seconds after adding them. Take it off the heat.

Whisk in the vanilla essence.

Cover the graham crackers with the melted mixture.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.

Take the pan out of the oven but don’t touch the foil until it’s cooled down.

Cool to room temperature before attempting to break.

Notes

• This recipe’s adaptability means you may whip up a variety of dishes to suit your tastes.

Suggestions for Changes

Replace the graham cracker base with crushed vanilla wafers or saltine crackers for the crust. It’s also possible to utilize graham crackers of other flavors, such as cinnamon or chocolate.

You can use any sort of nuts you like in this recipe, even though it’s based on Pecan Pie. You might use walnuts, almonds, or a combination of your preferred nuts.

The sweetness of maple syrup complements the nutty flavor of pecans perfectly. Substitute 1 tablespoon of maple syrup for the vanilla essence in the bark recipe to incorporate this.

• Bourbon: Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of bourbon along with the pecans for a boozy Pecan Pie Bark.

To transform this into Chocolate Pecan Pie Bark, simply add a cup of chocolate chips to the sauce pan along with the butter, sugar, and pecans and allow them to melt together.

A Method for Maintaining Bark Quality

The bark can be stored for up to a week at room temperature before being served. Cover the bark or store it in a container that prevents air from getting in.

The Pecan Bark can be kept fresh in the fridge for up to 2 weeks if stored in an airtight container.

One of the best things about bark is that it can be made in advance and frozen. Place the shards of bark in a freezer bag with sheets of parchment paper between them. You can safely store it away for up to 6 months.
