Ingredients:

 

Dividing 10 slices of bacon in half

The equivalent of one chopped yellow onion

a half a green pepper, chopped

Can of pork and beans, 54 ounces

Use 4 tbsp of ketchup

14 cup of molasses

two-thirds of a cup of brown sugar

one-fourth cup apple cider vinegar

Season with dry mustard, 2 teaspoons

 

Instructions:

 

Step 1:

Bacon should be cooked until almost done and then drained on paper towels.

Step 2:

A medium-sized skillet should be heated with about 2 tablespoons of bacon fat. Dice an onion and a green pepper and add them to the pan with some olive oil. Saute for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft.

Step 3:

Blend in the remaining elements. Don’t touch the pot for a minute while the ingredients simmer. While the dish is simmering, grease the baking dish.

Step 4:

Put the beans in a baking dish that has been greased, and then layer the cooked bacon on top. Put in an oven that has been preheated to 325 degrees for 2 to 3 hours.

Step 5:

Please wait 5 minutes to serve after the beans have cooled.
