Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (9 inches) or homemade crust
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (113g)
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese (113g)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (56g)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (240ml)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (120ml)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Optional: chopped fresh herbs (such as chives or parsley) for garnish

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges if desired.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded cheddar, Gruyère, and grated Parmesan cheese. Spread this cheese mixture evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the cheese in the pie crust, ensuring it covers the cheese completely.
  5. Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  6. Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped fresh herbs, if desired.

Notes:

  • Experiment with different combinations of cheeses to suit your taste preferences. Fontina, Swiss, or Gouda can be excellent alternatives or additions to the three cheeses mentioned in the recipe.
