Cookies created with traditional peanut butter cookie batter and decorated with vibrant and crunchy M&M candies are known as peanut butter M&M cookies. The ingredients for the peanut butter dough include creamy peanut butter, butter, sugar, and eggs. Flour, baking soda, and salt are then added to create a thick, somewhat crumbly dough.

The dough is scooped into disk-shaped balls and then gently pressed to form the cookies. The tops of each cookie are then pressed with M&M candies to give them a colorful, festive appearance. The cookies are then baked until the outside is golden brown, the insides are somewhat puffy and mushy in the middle.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup M&M candies

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a thick dough forms.
  6. Fold in 3/4 cup of the M&M candies, reserving the remaining candies for later.
  7. Scoop out 2 tablespoons of dough and roll it into a ball. Press down gently on each ball to flatten slightly, and then press a few of the remaining M&M candies onto the top of each cookie.
  8. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
