These Oven Baked Potato Slices are flexible and simple to prepare. You may serve them as a side dish or as a snack with a dip! They have a sharp outside and a soft interior.
Initially, I was hesitant to publish this recipe for Potato Slices on my blog because it is too easy – too basic. But anytime I publish a photo of my meal on Instagram that includes potato slices as a side dish, I receive numerous requests for the recipe. So here we are.

Ingredients:

Baking potatoes

shredded Cheddar cheese

Cooked and crumbled bacon

sliced onions green

Acidic cream

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Spread butter on both sides of the potato slices and arrange them on a baking sheet.

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until both sides are lightly browned, flipping once. When the potatoes are cooked, top them with bacon crumbles, cheese, and green onions.

Continue roasting in the oven until the cheese has melted. When finished, add a dollop of sour cream and enjoy! Note:

In lieu of baking, potatoes can be microwaved for six minutes after being pierced.

Tips & Variations

The ideal potatoes for baked sliced potatoes are Russet or Yukon Gold because of their high starch content, which enables them to cook up crispy and tender.

Slice the potatoes uniformly: Cut the potatoes into slices that are about 1/4 inch thick using a sharp knife or a mandoline slicer. As a result, they will cook more uniformly and no one will be overcooked while others are undercooked.

Prepare the potatoes by soaking them in cold water for 10 to 15 minutes before baking. This will assist to eliminate extra starch and make the potatoes crispier.

Dry the potatoes: After soaking them, pat the potatoes dry with a fresh towel or some paper towels. By doing this, they will fry up crispy rather than soggy.

Use just enough oil to coat the potatoes evenly once you’ve cut them up. They can become oily and unhealthy with too much oil, while bland and dry with insufficient oil.

Add seasoning: Season the potatoes with your preferred blend of spices, such as paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, or herbs like rosemary or thyme. The meal will gain taste and depth as a result.

Bake potatoes for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are crisp and golden brown on the outside and tender on the inside, at 400 degrees Fahrenheit in a preheated oven.

Serve warm: Fresh out of the oven baked sliced potatoes are best served warm. For more taste and texture, you can top them with grated cheese, chopped fresh herbs, or a dollop of sour cream.
