A slice of Impossible cheeseburger pie is a flavorful, meaty, cheesy masterpiece that transforms ordinary burger recipes into an irresistible weeknight meal. There is nothing average about this hamburger casserole. It has all the makings of a fantastic meal for the whole family, and it can be prepared in less than an hour. This healthy dish can be enjoyed at any time of year.

If you want some hot, steaming cheeseburger soup, you’ll have to wait for the chilly weather to break out the hamburger soup. This is the kind of dish you’ll want to make on a weeknight after a long day at work. You just need a few basic ingredients to whip together this luxurious feast.

Another dish that instantly transports me back to my formative years! After having children, I often prepare dishes that reminded me of the comfort foods I enjoyed as a youngster. They aren’t big fans of everything, but they really dig this one. Mom had to get really resourceful to cook for my brother and me, and I’m starting to really respect and admire all the hard work she put in.

The beautiful thing about this recipe is that it can be modified to suit your tastes and those of your family. I really appreciate it when recipes can be modified easily. Take advantage of whatever is at hand!

Bisquick is the only baking mix my mother ever used, so I continue the family tradition whenever I need a quick solution.

Enjoy!

Ingredients

2 ounces of beef mince
To make the onion relish: 1 cup of chopped onion
You’ll need one packet of dry onion soup mix and one can of onion soup
You’ll need 3/4 cup water and 1 1/2 cups of finely shredded cheese.
Ingredients: 12 teaspoon salt, 14 teaspoon pepper, 12 cup milk
3.0 lg. eggs
About a third of a cup of baking powder (Bisquick or similar baking mix)
Slicked American Cheese, if desired

Instructions:

Grease a 9×9 baking dish (or two pie plates) lightly and preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

If your pieces are more substantial, use a 99 baking dish, and if they’re more delicate, a 913 baking dish.

Cook the ground beef and onions together in a skillet until the beef is no longer pink. If there is any fat in the pan, remove it.

Simmer the onion soup mix in the 3/4 cup water for 10 minutes.

Put the eggs in a bowl and whisk them lightly. Combine the Bisquick mix, salt, pepper, milk, and milk.

Combine all ingredients by beating until smooth.

First, spread half of the meat mixture over the bottom of the baking dish. Next, spread half of the cheese over the meat mixture.

The next step is to equally distribute the Bisquick mixture on top of the layered meat and cheese.

Cover the top with a few pieces of American cheese (If desired).

The top should be golden brown after 30 minutes in the oven.

Notes

• Dish: If your pieces are more substantial, use a 9×9 baking dish, and if they’re more delicate, a 9×13 dish.

If you have to avoid gluten, Bisquick is a great gluten-free alternative. It’s likely that other brands of gluten-free baking mix will perform just as well.

When looking for a meat alternative to ground beef, try ground turkey or chicken.

Corn (or Mexican corn), chopped mixed veggies, green peppers, garlic, 1/4 cup ketchup (plus 2 Tbsp yellow mustard, if you want), and mushrooms are some examples of what you could add after browning the meat. There are probably additional options; if this one appeals to you, go for it!

For a more authentic cheeseburger flavor, I like to top my dish with slices of American cheese.

Dill pickle slices, tomato slices, lettuce, chopped lettuce, sautéed mushrooms, or any other toppings you enjoy on your cheeseburger.
