I’ve been eating Indian Tacos for a very long time. As soon as my mom was able to get one into my mouth, I tried it for the first time. My only complaint is that I could only find it at the state fair once a year. It’s likely that the “once a year” opportunity to sample every fair food stand is a major draw for many people. I’ve always had a soft spot for corn dogs, sweet potatoes, and Indian tacos.
I am aware that several state fairs do not provide Indian tacos. It’s like the finest taco salad in a shell, but with a lot more bread!

Popular Native American snack consisting of a burger patty, lettuce, and sour cream sandwich on bread. In addition to being a delicious and nutritious dessert, this easy recipe calls for only three ingredients: flour, baking powder, and honey.

This recipe is a Native American treat that has become popular in the Western United States under a variety of different names, including Indian Fry Bread, Navajo Fry Bread, Navajo Tacos, and Scones. In this recipe, the dough is incredibly simple to prepare. A delicious fry bread hiding beneath its unassuming exterior. Soft and fluffy on the inside, with a satisfying crunch from the outside as you munch. It’s most commonly found in Navajo Tacos, which come piled high with all the fixings. Honey butter and powdered sugar would make a great dessert accompaniment. You’ll probably think you’ve died and gone to heaven.

 

Ingredients:

 

 

When making Fry Bread, you should:
Two cups of flour for all purposes
a measure of baking powder equal to 1 tablespoon
SALT, 1 TEASPOT
The equivalent of one cup of milk
Fry in 4 cups of oil, or more if necessary.
Toppings:
1 pound of beef, ground
Taco Seasoning, 1 Tablespoon For the southwest flavor, I either make my own or use Penzey’s.
Ranch Style Beans, one 15-ounce can (Ranch Style is a bean brand; if you can’t find it, any chili beans will do).
Shredded Cheddar, 1 cup
Shredded Iceberg Lettuce, 2 Cups
Optional: 1/4 cup of chopped onions

 

Instructions:

 

Place all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add the warm water and mix with your hands until a dough forms. Cut the dough into pieces, and roll them into balls.

Step 2:

Thin circles of dough, about 6 inches in diameter and 1/2 an inch thick, should be rolled out. Then, fry each piece in a medium saucepan filled halfway with hot oil, turning after a few minutes to ensure even cooking, and setting aside to drain on paper towels once done.

Topping:

Step 3:

Beans that have been soaking overnight should be placed in a crockpot and covered with water. Cook for four to six hours on low heat, or until tender. Add the bacon, roughly two to three slices worth, two hours before the beans are finished cooking.

Step 4:

Barbecue a pound of ground beef. When the beans are done, throw in the burger and spread the beans out over whatever else you’d like to eat. Presented for your consumption, please enjoy!
